During a well-child visit, we will perform a thorough physical exam, track growth and development, update vaccinations, and discuss any concerns you may have. Your child’s vision and hearing may also be checked depending on their age.

We follow the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics and encourage our patients to do the same. Vaccinations are given according to the recommended vaccination schedule. We’ll make sure to inform you about the vaccines your child is due for and discuss benefits/ risks and answer any questions you may have before administration.

What If I want to decline vaccines? We ask that parents make informed, evidence-based decisions about their child’s immunization. We may be able to accommodate alternative schedules however parents must sign a waiver each and every time a CDC scheduled vaccine is declined.

If your child is sick or running a fever, please call our office. We can help determine whether your child needs to be seen in person or if their symptoms can be managed at home. For fevers, make sure you have a thermometer you’re familiar and know how to use. It’s important to monitor temperature and the doctor will ask how high the fever has spiked. Also keep your child hydrated, and use fever-reducing medications as advised by your doctor.
